Gold-filled is a whole different category from gold plated, and it matters. Gold plated uses a microscopic layer of gold over a base metal, which is why it fades, flakes, and turns your skin green over time. Gold-filled uses a thick, pressure-bonded layer of real 18k gold over a brass core. The gold content is legally required to make up at least 5% of the total weight of the piece. In real terms, it's 100x more gold than plating. It holds up, keeps its colour, and earns its place in your everyday rotation.
No, not under normal wear. 18k gold-filled is tarnish resistant by nature. Unlike plated jewelry, the gold layer is thick enough that it doesn't wear away with daily use. You might notice very minor dulling over years of heavy use, but a gentle clean will bring it straight back.
Yes. All Aurie pieces are hypoallergenic and nickel free. If you've struggled with skin reactions from jewelry before, gold-filled is one of the safest options available outside of solid gold.
Yes, that's the point. Shower, swim, sweat. Aurie is built for your actual life, not your jewellery box. Salt water and chlorine won't damage your pieces with occasional exposure, though we'd recommend rinsing after heavy pool or ocean use just to be safe.
Gold-filled is low maintenance by design, but a little care goes a long way. Put your jewelry on last, after perfume, dry shampoo, hairspray, and skincare. These products contain chemicals that can dull the finish over time. When you're not wearing your pieces, store them somewhere dry. A soft pouch or a dedicated section of your jewellery box works well, anything that keeps them from knocking against other pieces and scratching.
Keep it simple. Use a soft, lint-free cloth, a glasses cleaning cloth works perfectly, and gently buff the surface. For a deeper clean, dampen the cloth very lightly with warm water. That's genuinely all it needs. Avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and abrasive materials. They're not necessary and can damage the finish over time.
US orders are delivered within 3 to 5 business days. You'll receive a confirmation email as soon as your order is placed, and a tracking link once your package ships so you can follow it the whole way.
Yes, Aurie ships worldwide. International delivery times vary by destination. All applicable duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer and may be collected at the point of delivery depending on your country.

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery. Items must be unworn, unused, and in their original packaging. Once we receive and inspect your return, your refund will be issued to your original payment method within 5 to 7 business days. Original shipping costs are non-refundable.
Yes, we accept exchanges within 14 days of delivery for items of equal value. Contact us before sending anything back so we can help you through the process. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged or incorrect.

Custom pieces, limited edition drops, promotional items, and gift cards are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
